"Mosca" & "Rasentin"
Sambuca is a sweet liqueur made from star anise, traditionally found in Mediterranean culture alongside Pastis, Ouzo, Anis, Raki, and Arak. It differs from anise liqueur or Mistrà due to its high sugar content: at least 350 g/l, with a minimum alcohol content of 38% vol. (Reg. EC 110/2008).
At Poli Distilleries, it was produced from the post-war period until the 1980s and has now been reintroduced.
Elisir Sambuca Poli is colorless, with an intense anise aroma, velvety, and pleasantly sweet. It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, flambé, in cocktails, or with the "fly" (a coffee bean).
Also worth trying in the ‘rasentin,’ a Venetian ritual with coffee.
